Sorry for the prolonged absence, guys -- should be back now, and am going to be aiming for 8 updates for GT this month -- will also be testing out a - hopefully faster - way of flood filling the base colours -- Actions!! Never knew Photoshop had those owo~ but they sound great.

In any case.
Grass! Simpler than I thought.

Uhh...
Right. Again, a million apologies for the absence. Meant to come back sooner in March but ended up nearly killing myself with two huge projects and some odd sort of sickness - .... s'all (mostly) good now though! See ya soon!

Uhh... basically, it's just laying the flat colours. Some people use the paint bucket tool, but I find that that messes with my lines, so I usually just go around and 'fill' everything in with my pen on a layer underneath, you know? That's basically all I meant by flood-filling. x3

But what I just recently learned about in Photoshop are actions -- short cuts of a sort, I guess. This one in particular expands any active selection [by a preset number of pixels] and then automatically fills with the foreground colour [if that's what you've got it set to.]

So I magic wand the area I want to fill in with colour, and when I'm on a layer underneath, I press one key and voila - expansion and filling, with one minor retouching to fill in the holes that were too small for the selection to reach.

Still getting used to it though, so we'll see. [... just learning about the 'expand' option alone, which I never knew about, is a big help in itself haha....]

Not sure how clear all of that was. If it was hard to understand, my apologies, and do let me know x3

When I lay my flats I use the paint bucket tool. I may try and use flood-filling when I get in an experimental mood. Thanks for the sharing your knowledge.
